Introduction
Yesterday on September 12th, Apple had their annual conference where they announced the newest juggernaut in the smartphone world, the iPhone 15. They announced four new phone models, the iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 plus as well as two pro models. Both the base and Pro models have seen major upgrades this time. This blog post will dive into what’s new with each phone.
iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus

The base models are the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus. These two phones will be available in 5 new colors, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black. The first new addition to these phones is the Dynamic Island. This feature was first introduced with the iPhone 14 but was only available on the Pro models. The camera saw an upgrade too with a new 48MP high-resolution main camera.
The battery in the new phones got an upgrade too with all-day battery life. Apple claims to get 20 hours of video playback on the iPhone 15 and 26 hours on the iPhone 15 Plus. One of the last additions to the iPhone 15 is the A16Bionic chip which powers all kinds of advanced features. Lastly, the USBC port is finally coming to the iPhone. This has been a long-awaited feature that a lot of people are excited about. Now you will be able to carry one cable to charge all your devices!
iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max

Now let's jump into the Pro line models of the iPhone 15. The two phones saw major upgrades this year. First, let’s talk about the new A17 Pro chip. This is the fastest chip to ever be in a smartphone. This chip vastly improves the graphics performance for gaming on the iPhone. Mobile games will feel and look more immersive.
The next biggest upgrade is the aerospace-grade titanium design. The titanium design makes this the lightest iPhone ever. Titanium is the best strength-to-weight ratio of metal. The titanium design looks very sleek, and I can’t wait to get my hands on one. The camera saw an upgrade with a new 48MP high-resolution main camera. However, you also get multiple focal lengths to work with from 13mm to 120mm. Another cool feature is the ability to shoot spatial videos on the iPhone that you can view on the Apple Pro Vision.
Next, Apple has removed the sound toggle on the left side of the phone and replaced it with a new action button. With this, you can get to things like the camera, flashlight, voice memo, etc. much quicker. USBC has also come to the Pro models but with an upgrade over the base models. The iPhone Pro supports USB3 so you can transfer files up to 20x faster. You can also charge your Mac or iPad with the same cable used to charge your iPhone 15 Pro. A few other things the Pro models get over the base models are an Always-On display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1TB storage option.
Conclusion
I am very excited about the new lineup of iPhones. Specifically, the iPhone 15 Pro. I have been using the iPhone 12 Pro Max for the last three years so this will feel like a huge upgrade. You will be able to pre-order the new iPhones this coming Friday, September 15th. They will also be available in stores on September 22nd.
